Over the course of the next three years, the 11 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) will embark on their PhD programme that will explore the various forms of social engagement in art. The ESRs have been selected from over 270 applications from all over the world. Overall, they represent a young generation of researchers involved in the study of Socially Engaged Art across the fields of political philosophy, art theory/practice and curating/art administration.
During their training, they will create research outputs in their relevant fields as a contribution to debates about the role, impact, distribution and critical future of socially engaged art. The results will be presented through publications and individual blogs.
